I have been curious and passionate about human psycho/spiritual development since I was child. My intuitive and kinesthetic knowing activated in childhood with a innate understanding about how to help. My professional work in the helping field began as a teenager as a youth house manager at a runaway shelter, later moving into working with people with developmental disabilities in college and then to forming my own private practice after college in 1993.

In my early 20's my dad came back from a conference and taught me a basic energy clearing technique. I was transfixed. It was as if someone handed me an instrument I had been practicing and playing for a thousand years and had somehow forgotten about. It was like coming home. And even though I “knew” nothing about it, it belonged to me and always had. I was determined not to let a narrow model of energy healing to limit what I intuitively knew was already within me. So I proceeded to spend the next 30 years remembering energy work. This primarily boiled down to two things: trusting myself completely and getting out of the way.

I left college and started my own practice of counseling, energy work and flower essences. I was receiving outstanding therapy at the time and had a mentor who supervised my work and supported me and a dear friend, who was also a brilliant therapist, helping to guide me. After working on my own with clients for 5 years I felt ready to receive further training and entered into a graduate program in psychology at Meridian University in Northern California. This was a time of huge personal growth and learning and I Loved every minute of it.

At the very end of the two year program I experienced a profound loss. Through this loss I realized psychology was not the help I needed. I completed my work and earned my Master’s degree and then, months later, began a 2 year apprenticeship in African shamanism with Malidoma Some. This was a potent path of belonging, heart opening, personal power and a whole different way of perceiving life. From Maldoma I learned the realm of ritual, indigenous ways of seeing and the gifts of the Five Elements. It was an extraordinary time. When my work with Malidoma was over, in stepped my next teacher, an energy worker named Isabelle Lambert. She has been my dear mentor from that time to the present, over 20 years!

In addition I have been active in the practice of Authentic Movement for 20+ years. Authentic Movement is a movement form that, like meditation and ritual, allow extended opportunities for self-awareness and enactment of one's own interior, allowing the necessity of the psyche to be moved and witnessed. This work has influenced my approach to life and working with clients in profound ways.

I have also been in an ongoing group for couples designed to deepen the bond of the couple and increase sensitivity to one's inner experience within relationship and communicate it for over 15 years. This has supported my own 27 year marriage in countless ways in informs my work with people seeking relationship support.

I remain enraptured, fascinated, engaged and in Love with my work. There are few things that bring me more joy than to sit with a client, fully present and see how things unfold. What a blessing.
